Crisis Prevention Training (SIVA)

Crisis Prevention Training (SIVA format) is offered through a partnership between ACDS and the Canadian-based organization, SIVA (Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments). This training provides exclusive discounts for community disability organizations and is informed by SIVA’s holistic and trauma-informed model, centered on nurturing healthy, trusting relationships and promoting safety for all.

This training is open to all organizations (ACDS members and non-members) of any size and meets CET accreditation standards, supporting agencies in strengthening their approach to safety and trauma-informed practice.

SIVA promotes collaboration, goalsetting, self-management, and healthy empowerment to enhance connections and foster safety for individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours. Rather than focusing solely on crises, the SIVA philosophy encourages proactive problem-solving, informed decision-making, and meaningful systemic change in how programs create and uphold safety.

During SIVA’s Two-Day training participants receive guided instruction of the SIVA model and the grounding principles therein. In each module of the training participants receive clear and concise relationship-based strategies on how to apply the SIVA model.
