Workplace Investigation Training for CDS

This two-day virtual course is designed specifically for professionals working in the Community Disability Services (CDS) sector or with vulnerable persons. Offered by ACDS in partnership with the Workplace Institute, it covers two main investigative areas: complaints/issues concerning persons in care and staff-related workplace concerns. Content is adapted from Workplace Institute’s existing courses with customized CDS-relevant scenarios, video clips, and case studies.

Length of Training
14 hours (delivered over two 7-hour sessions)

  • Apply best practices in interviewing, including interviewing vulnerable people
  • Navigate ethical issues and consent processes

  • Incorporate lived experience and cultural considerations
  • Collect and assess physical, documentary, and digital evidence
  • Document findings and write reports
  • Investigate systemic issues and root causes

Certification
Participants must attend both sessions and complete assessments to receive a Certificate of Completion.
