Resources Alberta Health Services, in partnership with the Government of Alberta, Disability Services – Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), are working together to help adults with an intellectual/developmental disability and mental health concern/illness plus complex service needs receive the care they need through a coordinated and integrated support system. Train-the-Trainer
Mental Health First Aid Training: Courses cover the following mental health problems: depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, and Substance Use Disorder and the following mental health crisis situations: suicidal behaviour, overdoses, panic attacks, reactions to traumatic events, and violence associated with psychosis. Resources
This Dual Diagnosis online course is a non-credit program comprising the first four chapters of NADD Ontario`s Dual Diagnosis text. Learning module topics include a basic introduction to the nature of developmental disabilities, recognizing and understanding the mental health needs of persons with developmental disabilities within a biopsychosocial model, and implications and strategies for optimizing supports.
