Team Leader Qualifications
ACDS requirements for the ideal candidate
The work of a Team Leader involves pre-survey preparation, actual survey facilitation and participation, and post-survey work (i.e., from basic compilation of data through to the preparation of a final report).
Background Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years work experience in the field of Community Disability Services or other human service field
- Four (4) years of post-secondary education in a related area of study
- Experience in program delivery and evaluation
- Experience working with funding bodies, preferably the Ministry of Community and Social Services, Persons with Developmental Disabilities
- Prior training as a surveyor and successful completion of at least two (2) surveys as a Team Member
Equivalent combinations of work experience and education will be considered.
Critical Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Above average writing skills with a commitment to quality work and an excellent ability to focus on details and accuracy
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- A commitment to meeting deadlines
Computer and Software
- Access to and skill using a smart phone and a PC computer is essential (e.g., desktop computer, laptop, or tablet)
- Advanced knowledge of and proficiency in using
- the system software native to your device (Microsoft Windows 10)*
- Microsoft Office 2016 minimum, Office 365 preferable
- video/audio conferencing software (e.g., Zoom, Skype, FaceTime)
- digital document transfer programs (e.g., Dropbox)
​Knowledge and experience using SharePoint will be an asset.

Becoming a Team Leader
Applicants who wish to be team leaders will be instructed on how to
- lead a site-survey
- review the Self-Study Guide and attached documents using SharePoint
- record and export survey data using Notion software and
- document your findings in a concisely-written report
After successfully completing Team Leader training, you must commit to
- completing a minimum of two (2) surveys annually
- participating in any future surveyor refresher training
