Session Overview
This session will focus on practical strategies to support individuals diagnosed with complex mental health and behavioural needs. Participants will learn to efficiently and effectively identify symptoms related to mental health, communicate and interact with individuals struggling with mental health problems, proactively support clients to navigate cognitive and emotional experiences (negative and positive) and manage behaviours. Learning these skills can help improve the mental health of both staff and individuals as they navigate working together through complex everyday situations. This course requires full participation of participants including group work and practicing. Participants should have paper and pen/pencil/markers/pencil crayons with them for the session as these will be required in the group work settings.
