Outcomes Training (Calgary)

February 20, 2020

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Info

This course is designed to provide a language and a set of tools for learners to support planning with outcomes, data-driven decision making, and assessment within their organization. Non-profit organizations face increasing accountability to “show their impact” to governments, donors, and stakeholders. To respond to higher standards, the vision for this course is for service providers to have staff with the know-how to complete data collection, as related to service provision and the Creating Excellence Together accreditation standards.

Learners will learn practical and intentional approaches to setting and achieving goals. These approaches can and will be applied in both personal and professional contexts to link theory and practice.

This course references Creating Excellence Together Standards to make content relevant to the work of community disability services. These standards receive specific attention because they set the expectations for decision-making and evaluating outcomes for service providers. As well, this program includes individual reflection and group discussion.

The course concludes with a test, consisting of 20 items. Learners must earn a score of 80% to earn a certificate of completion.

By completing this course, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the whyhow, and what of personal and organizational efforts;
  2. Describe the personal vision for one’s life, and how this relates to outcomes;
  3. Describe the components of personal well-being;
  4. Create SMART Goals related to one’s well-being;
  5. Differentiate between outputs and outcomes;
  6. Define a logic model for the achievement of goals;
  7. Define measurementassessment, and evaluation and explain how these concepts support the achievement of goals;
  8. Relate measurement and goal-tracking to an Individual Service Plan
