This afternoon, the Government of Alberta announced an indefinite hold on the Canada-Alberta Job Grant program. You can read the news announcement here. 

We know this will be distressing news to many of you who rely heavily on this funding to ensure essential training for your staff. We have addressed our concerns about the impact of this decision on the Community Disability Services sector in an initial response on social media this afternoon, and we will follow up with letters to relevant Government of Alberta ministers in the coming days, in addition to other advocacy efforts. We want to assure you that we will advocate strongly for access to funding to support staff training. 

To assist us as we move forward with our advocacy, we request you share any information you can about how you currently use the Canada-Alberta Job Grant program, how many staff members benefit, in addition to other information you feel relevant. Please email acds@acds.ca with this information.
