The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) is offering instructor-led Introduction to Positive Behaviour Supports (PBS) Train-the-Trainer Tutor Training for individuals interested in facilitating PBS training within their own organizations.
This interactive training provides “qualified persons” (as defined by the Creating Excellence Together Standards) with the knowledge, tools, and copyrighted materials required to deliver ACDS’ PBS training in alignment with the CET Standards. The Train-the-Trainer program is intended for individuals who have previously completed PBS training or have relevant education and experience in behaviour supports.
Day 1 (August 5): Session on review of the PBS content.
Day 2 (August 6): Session will cover principles of adult learning and virtual facilitation.
Day 3 (August 7): Presentations delivered by participants, as part of their evaluation for training.
Christina Schofield
Christina is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst based in Edmonton, Alberta. She holds a Master of Professional Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis and has experience supporting individuals across the lifespan in various settings, including specialized services and education. Christina has been facilitating PBS training since 2019.
To register, learners must meet at least one of the following:
Completed ACDS’ Positive Behaviour Supports training (either Level 1 + 2 or Introduction to PBS),
OR have demonstrated experience in behavioural supports through education and/or work history,
OR a combination of ACDS PBS training and relevant experience.
Learners must also complete a self-assessment included in the registration form. Responses will be shared with the facilitator to help tailor the training to participant needs.
ACDS Members: $275 + GST per learner
Non-members: $357.50 + GST per learner
PDD-contracted organizations may be eligible for sector support subsidies. Subsidies will be applied at the time of invoicing, subject to availability.
This training has a registration limit of 8 learners. Registration will close once the cap is reached.
Cancellation Policy
Learner Cancellations:
14+ days before training: Full refund
7–13 days before training: 50% refund
Less than 7 days before training: No refund
Transferability:
Registrations may be transferred to another learner up to 72 hours before training, subject to availability.
No-shows:
No refund or credit will be provided for no-shows without prior notice.
ACDS Cancellations:
In the rare event ACDS must cancel the training, a full refund or course credit will be issued.
