Hosted online over two days via Zoom on February 17 and 18, 2026, from 9 AM to 2 PM MST.
The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS), in partnership with SIVA (Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments), is offering Crisis Prevention Training with Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI). This Canadian-developed, trauma-informed training takes a holistic approach to safety, emphasizing collaboration, relationship-building, self-management, and empowerment when supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Crisis Prevention Training (SIVA) with ESI focuses on promoting standards of care through collaborative WISE (Working Interactive Safety Evaluations) plans and effective communication to achieve safe outcomes. Emergency intervention techniques will be taught and demonstrated by an ACDS-certified SIVA trainer who has completed the required two-day safety management training.
Additional Emergency Safety Intervention (ESI) units include:
Policy development
