This is the learner registration form for Instructor-led Workplace Investigation Training for Community Disability Services (CDS) Professionals, offered in partnership with the Workplace Institute and the Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS). The two days training is scheduled for October 1 and 2, 2024, from 8:00am to 3:00pm MDT via Zoom. Learner materials will be sent to the organization after confirmation of registration. Please note that learners must attend and complete both sessions and pass the tests to receive their certification.

Day 1: Fundamentals of Workplace Investigation Training for CDS Professionals (Part 1)
Day one covers essential workplace investigation principles, focusing on safety, planning, interviewing (including vulnerable individuals), ethical issues, and consents. It includes sector-specific scenarios, case studies, and examples from other fields. Participants receive practical tools like an investigation planning template and an interview recording tool, with exercises based on real scenarios.
Day 2: Fundamentals of Workplace Investigation Training for CDS Professionals (Part 2)
Day two focuses on managing parallel investigations, integrating life experience and cultural considerations, handling various types of evidence, assessing and documenting findings, and exploring report writing. It also delves into investigating systemic issues and root causes. This content is tailored for professionals in the Community Disability Services field, emphasizing strong investigative and review practices.
Instructor-led training
This interactive training is conducted via Zoom and is facilitated by an instructor.
On successful completion of the training, participants will receive Certification of Completion.
Fees
ACDS Members: $1,250 + GST per learner
Non-members: $1,625 + GST per learner
