This is the learner registration form for Instructor-Led Virtual Mandt Training Without Physical Restraint offered in partnership with the Mandt System Training and the Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS). Training is scheduled for April 11 & 12, 2024 from 9:00am to 4:00pm MDT via Zoom. Learner materials will be sent to the organization after confirmation of registration. Please note that learners must attend and complete the two sessions and pass the tests to receive their Certification.
This training is offered virtually and DOES NOT feature physical restraints. It is ideal for staff who do not require knowledge of restrictive interventions. This training still meets standards for CET purposes.
Instructor-led training: This training is conducted via Zoom and are facilitated by an instructor. The training department creates a Zoom class link, which is shared with both the instructor and learners prior to the training date.
Training covers: This training equips participants with comprehensive strategies in prevention and deceleration, guiding them in establishing communication and behavior support practices that preemptively address potential crises. The training emphasizes decision-making related to risk associated with crisis behavior, offering tools for assessing and mitigating hazards in high-stress situations. The program includes post-vention approaches, focusing on methods for reflecting on and learning from crisis events to strengthen relationships and prevent future occurrences.
Please be advised that the Mandt Training System is designed to operate independently and is not intended to be integrated with or supplemented by other Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) trainings offered by different systems. As such, it is essential for all staff members to complete training in the Mandt System for a cohesive and unified strategy in crisis intervention after transitioning to Mandt.
