The Appeal Panel is struck by the ACDS Board of Directors for the purpose of:
- Reviewing a service provider's appeal of its CET survey based on its concerns about the survey's objectivity; or
- Reviewing a service provider's appeal of the decision of the Commission on Accreditation.
The Appeal Panel is usually comprised of three members:
- At least one representative of the ACDS Board of Directors;
- An Executive Director of a similar organization; and
- A third-party surveyor.
The Standards and Accreditation Manager takes part in Appeal Panel meetings to provide general clarification on the survey process and specific clarification around the survey being appealed. Other people who may be asked to take part in the meeting could include a representative of the organization that has launched the appeal, the survey team leader, or a Commission on Accreditation member.
